What Does Topsoil, Garden Soil, Raised Bed Soil and Potting Mix Mean?
When it comes to soil, there are several different types that you might hear about, including topsoil, garden soil, raised bed soil and potting mix. Topsoil is the layer of soil that sits on the surface and is usually the best for growing plants. Garden soil is a type of topsoil that has been amended with organic matter like compost or manure. Raised bed soil is a type of soil that is specifically used for raised beds, and is made up of a mixture of topsoil and compost. Potting mix is a type of soil that is used for growing plants in containers and is made up of a blend of different types of soil and organic matter.
